YBLTV Review - PowerFilm Solar LightSaver

With everyone carrying multiple electronic devices these days, the need for power banks has surged. They range from various shapes and styles, though PowerFilm Solar really ups the ante here. Imagine having a power bank that you could strap on your backpack while you’re out hiking, or even resting on your cooler when your at the beach. Once you’re done, you can roll it up and slip it in your pocket. It’s just that simple. Let’s take a look.

Portability

PowerFilm Solar’s LightSaver series of power banks allow you to do just that. Charge your phone in the morning, and then unroll the solar panel and strap it to your hiking gear while you’re out enjoying the day. All but forgetting that you have a power bank charging with you! Coming in at an easily overlooked 1.5 inches wide and 7.8 inches long when rolled up, you can easily slip this portable battery in your pocket.

Dual Charge Options

Most people can easily spend 6 hours occupied outdoors, whether you’re playing football with friends or having a casual grill out. The LightSaver takes 6-8 hours of full sun to gain a full charge.

Alternatively, you can charge the battery in about 3 hours from a convenient wall outlet. So, you charge the pack before you leave the house, let your buddy charge up a bit while at the neighborhood BBQ, and lay it out to top off the charge. After providing music for the event, you can grab your LightSaver and charge up before going on with your evening activities.

Durability

I love the durability that the LightSaver offers. Elastic bands on one end of the roll, with hard plastic on the end with the charging outlets. At first glance, this looks a bit foreign to me, though once you get your hands on it, you realize these give you the opportunity to stretch the bands over shoulder straps of a backpack for example, while the plastic offers loops to run cord or carabiners through for convenience. Admittedly, I was initially worried how the solar panels could be so flexible, but they seem impressively solid, given the lamination and other materials they consist of.
