YBLTV: Describe your role in your company in no more than 100 words:
Evan Allen: I treat and manage patients with a focus on lifestyle, reducing medication and reversing chronic diseases.
YBLTV: What is it the company does?
Evan Allen: We are a concierge medical practice focused providing high quality science-based medical care to our clients. We offer care in a relaxed setting with single annual payments and no involvement of insurance companies in the decision making.
YBLTV: Give us a brief timeline of your career so far – where did you start, how did you move on?
Evan Allen: I started as a traditional family doctor and worked in the US Air Force where i did my residency. After two decades of this, I found myself disappointed with some of the limitations of traditional insurance-based practice, so we created a concierge model that allows greater focus on an individual and greater ability to address root causes of disease.
YBLTV: What do you believe makes a great leader?
Evan Allen: A great leader makes it clear what is necessary and provides the tools to accomplish those goals while motivating the people in the organization to put in the time to produce good results. Willingness to listen and change course when things are not working are critical.
YBLTV: What has been your biggest challenge in your current position?
Evan Allen: Knowing how many people I could help and not being able to do so.
YBLTV: How do you alleviate the stress that comes with your job?
Evan Allen: I meditate, exercise and try to focus on actionable problems.
YBLTV: When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Evan Allen: An astronaut.
YBLTV: Any pet peeves in the workplace? What do you do about them?
Evan Allen: I dislike unnecessary interpersonal drama. We try to give people a chance to express their concerns about things in regular meetings.
YBLTV: Where do you see the company in five years time?
Evan Allen: As the premier concierge practice in Southern Nevada
YBLTV: What advice would you give to an aspiring business leader?
Evan Allen: Activate what will drive you to achieve things as your motivation. Once you want something badly enough, you will work hard to achieve it. Then find ways to keep that hunger going. Complacency will typically lead to stagnation.
