YBLTV Review: C&C Total Zen Lavender Mousse Cleanser

If you have combination skin, or if you have stripped your skin with powerful acne medications or treatments, I would recommend this. This product doesn’t strip, so you’re not provoking more oil production, but it also isn’t greasy-- so, it is more comfortable to fall asleep with. I would also recommend this for after using makeup, as you want to give your skin time to recover.

PROS
  • Amazing Scent (very gentle, not overpowering or too sweet, perfect for bedtime)
  • Gentle Foam (loved how it felt on my skin and how easy clean-up was)
  • Great Cleaning (my skin felt so clean, and it didn’t need harsh or intense ingredients to do so)
CONS
  • May Not Feel Clean Enough (some people with acne may be used to harsh products and feel like it’s not getting their skin clean enough, but that’s less of a con for the product and more of an industry con)

C&C Total Zen Lavender Mousse Cleanser. YBLTV Review by Katie Hernandez.

C&C’s Total Zen Lavender Mousse Cleanser definitely came for peppermint as my favorite C&C product to review, and I’m honestly so in love! As a personal routine (obviously, yours may differ), I use tougher cleansers in the morning because I’m getting all of the sweat and oil from sleeping off of my face AND i’m prepping my skin for moisturizer and sunscreen. I find that exfoliating and prepping my skin like that helps viscous liquids to absorb more easily into skin, which I like for the morning. I use hot towels at night for a more gentle way to open pores for night creams and serums, but I try to avoid stimulating scents like peppermint so close to bed.

Enter my hero, Zen Lavender Mousse. The scent is PERFECT for sleeping, and is the perfect example of just the right amount of lavender for a beauty product. Often times, lavender is either too strong and puts off those with allergies or scent aversions, or is diluted with sickly-sweet secondary scents that make is nauseating to breathe in. However, as soon as I smelled the Zen Lavender Mousse, I was instantly reminded of Friday night yin yoga sessions where my instructor does a nice little head massage with lavender essential oils. It was so pure and natural and definitely not strong nor sweet.

Additionally, as I used this as a nighttime cleanser, I found the mousse texture amazing for my sensitive skin. It cleaned SO well, but was so gentle that I couldn’t believe I had even washed my skin!
