YBLTV Review: C&C Muscle Bar Charcoal Cleansing Bar

If charcoal is too strong for you, or if you don’t enjoy eucalyptus, I wouldn’t go here. However, if you’re already looking at acne products, charcoal is still relatively gentle enough that you can wash your face and body with it while tackling blemishes.

PROS
  • Scent is One of My Favorites (Team Eucalyptus here!)
  • Charcoal Gets Tough Body Grime (especially hard-to-reach areas where acne can grow)
  • Definitely Not Drying In My Opinion
  • Cost Efficient (can test without a large investment and copious amounts of leftover product)
CONS
  • Size (A bigger bar would be nice for those who decide to integrate this into their skincare)

With peppermint already handled by two other C&C products, C&C’s Muscle Bar Charcoal Cleansing Bar gets its power from charcoal and eucalyptus for a strong, refreshing scent that can be used by either gender for face and body.

Since I don’t enjoy using a solid bar on both my face and my arms, I chose to keep this bar strictly for my body. As you can probably guess, I loved the scent of this bar. The really nice thing about this line is how the scents of the daily products compliment one another.

You have standout scents like coffee and tropical, and the medical sent of the cleansing pads. But with the products I would use everyday, they maintain a nice herbal scent that suits all genders (although you really don’t need to avoid a product just because of gender stereotypes surrounding scents).

I did have some areas affected by cystic acne and large blackheads, and using the bar really help alleviate the irritation caused by the blemishes rubbing against clothing all day. I also feel like the charcoal does a great job of tackling actual oil content on the skin without being drying unlike some men’s washes that dry out skin or are more concerned with masking scents versus addressing skin concerns. I also liked this bar because, unlike women’s body wash, it doesn’t leave a film of grease on my skin after every shower masquerading as “moisturizer” ( I can apply my lotion on my own).

Final Thoughts

If charcoal is too strong for you, or if you don’t enjoy eucalyptus, I wouldn’t go here. However, if you’re already looking at acne products, charcoal is still relatively gentle enough that you can wash your face and body with it while tackling blemishes. I think the only real drawback is that many people avoid bar soap because of perceived bacteria collection, but just make sure you dry it properly and it’s not sitting directly on porcelain or tile.
