Simplify Grilling Small Foods With A BBQueCan From Barrel House Cooker Company

This 4th of July Celebrate with a BBQueCan

Happy 4th of July! There is nothing better than enjoying grilled foods to start your summer! My favorite foods to grill include steak, potatoes, hamburgers, hot dogs, and shrimp. However, grilling small foods such as shrimp can be difficult since they must be grilled as kabobs. This means that you must carefully watch and flip the skewers every couple of minutes, ensuring they don’t burn. In addition, grilling smaller food such as nuts would be near impossible, impossible until now. Introducing the BBQueCan from Barrel House Cooker Company. One of the featured items from this year’s National Hardware Show 2018, the BBQueCan makes grilling small foods possible!

Specifications

  • $24.95 per can
  • The can is dishwasher safe
  • Can measures 9.75” tall and 4.25” wide
  • The BBQueCan is made from 20 Gauge Stainless Steel. 3/16” holes on perforated side walls
  • Features a removable lid
  • Has a locking bail wire/handle

While the BBqueCan makes it easy to cook small foods, I wish there was a way to tell when the food was done. I have tried using the can a few times to cook potatoes. Normally, I grill them for two hours. However, with the BBQueCan, I cooked them for two hours and still found the potatoes to be slightly raw. While the taste is great, and the potatoes obtained the grill flavor, they did not receive enough cooking and some of them were slightly raw.

Pros

  • The design is great: the lid is easy to remove and replace even when hot
  • The BBQueCan design allows for easy rotation on the grill

Cons

  • It can be challenging to determine when the food is done since the holes are rather small to keep the food safe inside
  • Filling the BBQueCan up to capacity can possibly result in portions of uncooked food

Final Thoughts

It is easy to remove the BBQueCan lid, add food and replace the lid. The BBQueCan is also easy to use on the grill as it’s easily rotatable. However, I found it difficult to tell when the food is done leaving me to guess. This can result in the food being possibly undercooked. I love the design of the product and the amount of food it holds but I wish there was some way to tell when the food is cooked. Overall, I do enjoy using the BBqueCan as it does make grilling small food possible. I am hopeful that the more I use the product, the easier it will become determining when the food is done.
