It’s a fact of the current technical age: People are always in search of power. Take any airport, for example, and you’ll see dozens of people huddled around USB outlets, patiently waiting for their phones to spring to life. Everyone seems to have that friend who’s phone always dies and is desperately bartering for your power bank or car charger. With our lives so entwined with our technology, it’s become a habit to time our day with the charge of our devices.

Speaking personally, I’m always in search of a power source. I make it a habit to invest in high-grade, long-lasting battery banks and power strips. Having gone to school out of state and depending on my phone for emergencies, I found myself away with a hunk of dead phone more often than I would like. It was stressful not being able to contact family (especially during emergencies) and I was often at the mercy of others when trying to get in contact with loved ones.

Recently, I was given the opportunity to review EVRI Charging Station by OneAdatpr. This charging station boasts four USB ports with Quick Charge capabilities and one port designed for USB-C charging. I found the inclusion of the USB-C port extremely useful, since I’ve upgraded recently to the Pixel 2XL (which charges exclusively with USB Type-C). This inclusion seems to mark a consideration for third-party phone charging that has long been eclipsed by Apple’s proprietary charging and micro-USB (on the subject – does anyone else remember when there were 1,000 different types of chargers that matched to specific phones? Because I do, and good riddance). The EVRI Charging Station is also powered through an AC Adapter as well and is not powered through an internal reservoir.

“In the end, this device may fit better as a portable option for those on the go versus a true home charging station,” Katie Hernandez, YBLTV Writer/Reviewer

I found, however, that the EVRI Charging Station does not truly reflect its name. Instead, it is more of a charging port – one that would be beneficial during a study session at a coffee shop or best shared among co-workers or friends. When I imagine the concept “charging station,” this image would best fit on my bedside table and have room to rest my devices individually. The EVRI Charging Station does include pieces to assemble a rest for the device itself; however, I found that it would tip over during the night or simply fall off the table if my cords were tangled. With the issue of cords, most of my devices were disorganized and hard to access from my bed.

Final Thoughts

In the end, the charging capacity of the OneAdatpr EVRI Charging Station is adequate for industry standards (all my devices charged fairly quickly). This device may fit better as a portable option for those on the go versus as a true home charging station.
