YBLTV Review – beyerdynamic Custom Game Interactive Gaming Headset
Have you tried out a pair of beyerdynamic’s headphones yet? If you have not, you should keep your eyes open for a pair. I had the opportunity to review their new Custom Game model headphones. I enjoyed myself.
Beyerdynamic prefers a substantial design in their headphones, which was initially a concern for me. This is my second pair I have had the benefit of reviewing, and size seems to be a standard with beyerdynamic. That being said, do not take this as a complaint. Once you slip into a pair of beyerdynamic’s headphones, you are in for a treat. This assumption of a bulky design quickly fades, as you are treated to the cavernous luxury in the soundscape of your choosing. Personally, I took these through the highs and lows of everything from Turkish style music, to in-game battle explosions, and could find no flaws in the audio coming my way.
“If I would have encountered these on a personal shopping trip recently, I know what I would have gone with,” – Patrick Mackey, @mackeyp42, YBLTV Writer / Reviewer
The removable cable on the Custom Game model is a glorious addition in my opinion. I cannot tell you how many times I go to grab something off the printer or adjust equipment, and snag cables on the corner of a desk. With this removable cable, the headphones will stay in place, and I will only suffer the minor inconvenience of being unplugged for a moment. I applaud the designers for this inclusion, and hope to see this become a standard on future models.
The feel of beyerdynamic headphones is one that you should have the luxury of trying for yourself. If I would have encountered these on a personal shopping trip recently, I know what I would have gone with. Sturdy metal construction and soft leather-like ear pads will allow you to game for hours, worrying about your opponent and not your headset.

As mentioned, these were the second beyerdynamic headphones I have had the pleasure of reviewing. Beyerdynamic has no problem standing against the grain in terms of aesthetics, if it will provide the end user with a quality product. To that end, I do not know what they could do to improve on the sound quality. I was glad to see that the Custom Game headphones included a removable cable. I truly think this modular feature should be a standard for any pair of headphones these days. Hopefully I am not alone in this opinion.
