YBLTV Review: LifeProof FRĒ For iPhone 6/6s Case
Just about everyone has a smartphone these days. iPhone, Android, and Motorola are just but a few. There are plenty to choose from. With those phones, we desire cases that will protect them. I picked the LifeProof FRĒ for mine. Was it worth it?
Boasting protection from water, dirt, snow and drops, I had my doubts. Certainly, any decent case will protect against a drop. The FRĒ case certainly excels in that department. Raised edges protect the face as well as the camera-wielding backside.
As a bonus, there are nubs protruding from the side where your volume buttons and silence trigger are located. These buttons get used constantly, so this is a nice bonus. These are rugged enough to protect the functionality, without getting in the way of your day-to-day use.
I am certain that most smartphone owners will tell you, we are nervous with our device near water. I have yet to test this ability myself. Personally, I spent enough money on my phone that I am not willing to risk placing my phone in a sink, and quickly find out that the case’s claims are bunk.
The film covering the HOME button is barely thicker than scotch tape. Add to that, the glue it is held in place with will eventually come loose. This adds to my fear of belief in the waterproof claim.
Upon receiving my case, I was told that it would need to be disassembled and cleaned approximately once a month. This was a mistake on my part. Once you re-open this case even once, you will forever find hairs or dust inside the case, against your phone. While not exactly a problem, this is not something you prefer to have happen.
For the headphone jack, LifeProof went with a screw-in-place option. While a nice idea, it would be a nuisance if you misplace your one adapter. Thankfully, Bluetooth is becoming a more viable option by the day.
“My friends joke that I can break ‘unbreakable’ cases. I continue to recommend the LifeProof FRĒ,” – Patrick Mackey, YBLTV Writer / Reviewer

For a phone case, I have been more than satisfied with the LifeProof FRĒ. My friends joke that I have a knack for breaking ‘unbreakable’ cases.
I have dropped this multiple times on carpet, concrete, asphalt and steel. While not done intentionally, the phone inside still looks as if it were new out of the box. While the case has a ding or two, it has done its job beautifully.
I have taken this case with me when I travel. I have and will continue to recommend the LifeProof FRĒ case for those in the market.
