Kidz Gear Bluetooth Headphones for Kids

Kidz Gear Bluetooth™ Wireless Stereo Headphones: The Perfect Gift for the Little Audiophile in Your Life

Normally when I hear headphones made for kids I think of cheaply made plastic and speakers that sound horrible. So, saying that the pair I was given by Kidz Gear to review surprised me would be an understatement. Keep in mind that Kidz Gear has a wired model - which has a volume limiting feature. However, I chose to review the company’s wireless model, since I wanted to see how well a wireless pair made for kids would sound.

Inside the Kidz Gear Bluetooth™ Wireless Stereo Headphones box you will find headphones, cable to change the pair to wired headphones, a USB charging cable, a boom microphone and carry bag. The headphones are made from plastic but in no way feel cheap. Rather, the plastic helps the pair handle the rigors of putting up with abuse from kids and the pads over the speakers make them very comfortable to wear.

Now, the most important part: How do they sound? Amazingly great, this is what impressed me the most. The sound quality to me- is on par with professional lower-priced headphones. The weird thing about these headphones is that they actually sound better when running wireless than when they do wired. With most headphones, it is the complete opposite case. I tried these with my Playstation 4 when talking with other gamers through an internet connection on the system. The Playstation refused to accept the headphones wirelessly but plugging the pair directly into the gaming controller solved that issue. So, even though these may be designed with kids in mind, they still make for a great pair of gaming headsets for gamers on a budget.

Parents should love using the Volume Sanity app with these wireless Bluetooth headphones which enables them to keep the volume at the level they set for their kids.

The only drawbacks I have with the Kidz Gear Bluetooth™ Wireless Stereo Headphones is that the wires powering the speakers are visibly in reach. That can be a problem- especially for little hands that like to pull at things. The buttons on the side for volume control and skipping between songs feel a little loose to the touch. At times, when placing the headphones back on my head, I would accidentally tap one of the buttons on the right side and change the song or volume.

Another feature I feel that could use improvement is the plastic tab that protects the area where the charge cable fits for charging the headphones. This little plastic tab tends to come out of that hole and is a pain to fit back in at times.

Final Thoughts

Other than these few improvements, the Kidz Gear Headphones meet my approval for the little music fan in your own life. Oh, and next time, I’d love a different color than hot pink for testing… Maybe blue? LOL ;-/ Thanks Kidz Gear for the opportunity to review!
