YBLTV Review: OWC 2.0TB Drive Upgrade Bundle for the PS4
Ever since I first bought my PS4, I’ve had a serious problem with storage. And I know I’m not alone. Each other PS4 owner I’ve spoken to who owns at least a handful of games has immense difficulty deciding which game to delete from their hard drive any time they buy a new game.
It’s times like those when one fondly remembers the old gaming days where your biggest issue was whether or not the cartridge would work. They always worked – after blowing on them for a minute or two, of course.
But now, thanks to the OWC 2.0TB Drive Upgrade Bundle for the PS4, I never have to delete anything from my PS4 to make space for new downloads.
Things feel much simpler again. In fact, I can’t see myself ever having to delete a game again. Seriously, how am I going to fill up two terabytes of space?

OWC 2.0TB Drive Upgrade Bundle for the PS4 Kit Contents
The kit itself comes with everything you need to install the new hard drive to your system, including:
- OWC Express 2.5″ SATA Drive Enclosure
- 2.0TB Seagate/Samsung 5400RPM Hard Disk Drive
- 8.0GB Dual USB flash drive
- Philips #1 Screwdriver
- High Quality Double Shielded USB 3.0 (mini-B type) connecting cable
- Express Installation Guide
- Carrying sleeve
- 1 Year OWC Enclosure Limited Warranty
The installation itself probably took me around an hour total, including the data transfer times. And once I was finished, all I had to do was reinstall my physical gaming library to my PS4 and I was all set.
The only real issue I ran into during the installation process was with previously downloaded games. The instructions were a little unclear on this point – so I had to go back through the Playstation store to re-download each of those, and some were a little difficult to manage at first.
At one point, I was a little unsure of how to proceed when it came to the physical removal of my hard drive – but that’s more due to my own uncertainty rather than unclear instructions. And fortunately, there were plenty of helpful YouTube videos uploaded by OWC themselves to explain the whole process.
Overall, I couldn’t be more pleased with my new and improved PS4. I now have access to an impressive 4x larger storage drive, and can safely and securely hold my entire gaming library on my system. The peace of mind of never having to remove games from the system is well worth the cost and installation process.
Plus, I’ve found two serious benefits of the upgrade: my games load faster and even appear to have smoother frame rates. This means that not only am I making sure I’ll always be able to play the next new game – there’s a good chance they’ll even play better.
