AEROTAIN at NAB Show 2016
YBLTV: What is it the company does?
AEROTAIN: AEROTAIN is adding value to sports events by enabling unique sponsorship opportunities and generating stunning images from the air. Our service is driven by our unique flying machine which is safe enough to be touched in flight! It can take a broad variety of shapes and creates intense fan engagement.
YBLTV: What inspired the company to start-up?
AEROTAIN: During our studies we’ve realized that our research result could have a tremendous value for various applications. We are keen to explore them and transfer our technology to the market and add value to other companies operations.
YBLTV: How did you go about starting up, did you apply for funding or did you self-fund the project? If so, where did you secure funding from?
AEROTAIN: In order to bridge the gap between lab and market, we got a so called Pioneer Fellowship from our University as well as funding of private foundations. The company is self founded.
YBLTV: Where do you get advice, support and/or help?
AEROTAIN: We can count on broad support from coaches of our Universities Innovation and Entrepreneurship lab as well as organizations that foster entrepreneurship. Furthermore, previously successful entrepreneurs are keen to help us wherever they can.
YBLTV: What has been your biggest challenge so far?
AEROTAIN: Finding the right focus. Our system has so many potential applications, but sports is amongst the most interesting ones.
YBLTV: What is your next big target?
AEROTAIN: We are looking for teams and leagues that are interested in performing a test season.
YBLTV: What is the best and worst thing about being a start-up?
AEROTAIN: Best: We are completely free in all we do. Worst: We are completely free in all we do.
YBLTV: What makes this idea different?
AEROTAIN: We can safely fly above people in a precisely controlled fashion which opens up countless applications which are yet impossible.
YBLTV: Who would be your dream customer?
AEROTAIN: Adding a show element to NBA / NHL teams and delivering images to national networks (like ESPN) while showing a product of large sponsors such as Pepsi!
