Tottenham Hotspur Football Club is set to exhibit at the Las Vegas Licensing Expo for a second year running ahead of the team’s tour of USA and Canada this summer.
The Premier League side will visit and play friendly matches in Seattle, Toronto and Chicago during July as the Club continues to engage with a growing fan base in the region.
Tottenham Hotspur currently has 30 Official Supporters Clubs in North America, as well as commercial relationships with the likes of Under Armour and Stub Hub, and a Global Coaching programme that aims to develop soccer at grassroots level in partnership with youth organisations in California, Texas and Maryland.
By exhibiting at the 2014 Licensing Expo, the Club will be looking to expand a growing global portfolio of licensees, which already includes Sports Endeavors Inc (SEI), the biggest online retailer of football merchandise in North America.
Appointed as Tottenham Hotspur’s official licensee in the region, SEI recently experienced its biggest quarter to date in late 2013 for its bespoke range of Tottenham Hotspur apparel, enabling the Club to secure widespread distribution of official product across the market.
SEI invests heavily in US TV advertising during Premier League match coverage, appealing directly to the Club’s growing fanbase in the region.
Tottenham Hotspur will be exhibiting at Las Vegas between 17-19 June at Booth H42, and hope to welcome further licensees on board that could benefit from the Club’s increased exposure in the region over the coming months.
Gary Jacobson, Brand Licensing Manager, Tottenham Hotspur, said:
“We are pleased with the growth of our global licensing portfolio, having signed over 50 deals in two years across territories including the USA, Australia and Middle East, as well as our traditional UK market, and are constantly looking to take the brand into new and exciting areas of retail.
“Tottenham Hotspur’s strong brand values are ones that we share with our licensees and we strive to ensure that any licensee we work with produces a quality product that represents the Club in the right way and has the experience and ability to maximise the product at retail.
“We expect our global licensing programme to continue its rapid growth in coming months, with a key focus in North America.
“Our involvement at events such as the 2014 Las Vegas Licensing Expo highlights the importance Tottenham Hotspur is placing on the area of international licensing and meeting an increased demand for Club product in key territories.”
