“Content is still king,” Frank Besteiro said to us during our interview with him at last month’s NAB Show in Las Vegas, NV.

Bringing almost ten years of experience in the online video industry to his role as VP and Head of Business Development and Partnerships, Mr. Besteiro oversees and leads business development for all aspects of video at AOL, which include content acquisition, distribution & syndication, original content development & production as well as strategic relationships with YouTube and others.

Previously he served in senior sales and business development roles at Maven Networks (acquired by Yahoo!), The FeedRoom and Kaltura, where he helped partners develop online video strategies in both the media and enterprise verticals.

We spoke to Frank about creating good content – both short and long form for the internet. He very much agreed that the art of marketing and distribution is key. “The biggest piece of it is the platform and the reach. You want to get scale. Social media has been a big factor for us,” he went on to explain.

Frank’s session at NAB 2013 was entitled, “TV Evolved: Successful Online Video Business Models.”
